WOW what a first year for Curlys!
And our good pals at Butlins Skegness have invited us back for 2026 (phew!)
Yup, we're back for 2026 on the 25th of January, with more seagulls, more sunshine (maybe!) more parking and if we get too excited something funky happening on the big hill in the middle of the site ... maybe an optional run up? (joke!)
The event
Expect a super flat and fast PB potential course as we make our way through the traffic free seaside location amongst the caravans, starting and finishing in the grounds of Butlins caravan park!
The route is flat, fast and we’ve made it as spectator friendly as possible; 2025 saw Billy and Bonnie the Butlins bears in attendance, giant seagulls (don't worry it was our volunteers dressed up) and lot's of family friendly fun.
They'll be an aid station on route, music throughout the course and of course greeting you at the finish will be your well deserved medal and tasty cake based treat!
The event is chip timed and holds an England Athletics Licence too.
An extra thank you to those clubs, groups and organisations getting involved and making the day special for our runners-you’ll see volunteers at various points cheering you on, so if you’re not too tired, then shout them a thank you :)

Get Involved
We like to help where we can to help keep great running events in our area... these are so important for our existing running community, and a great way for people to get active and hopefully discover a love of running!
In year one we didn't get lot of time to develop the event, were focussed on getting it back and having a great day ... but we very much plan to grow and develop the event to help support the community further :)
If you fancy getting involved this year or for future please let us now... and let's do some cool running based things together and support the local community to get active!

Specially designed for the event and we always make sure it’s something special and it will follow the design of the medal :)
Profits from all our event t-shirts either go as a direct donation for the partner charities and/or fund free entry spaces for them to fundraise, some also goes to support our free events and activities we pop on to help others get active ... so thank you, in the last year we have been able to create a £12,500 donation to our various charities :)

For 2025 someone said they wanted a medal with seagulls and chips .... so now we had a medal with seagulls and chips :)
For 2026 someone said they wanted seals! ... so now we have Seals!
Some have said the baby seal has a look of a happy Ross Kemp, but we don't want to plant that seed in peoples head as we now only see Ross Kemp!
